The Day BruCo Came to Be...

A Rendition to be Told For Centuries

Why is it when you look up BruCo on the web that the images are all of caterpillars!? Of course our website pops up at the top of the search screen, but images that’s another story. Being the investigator that I was born to be, I looked into this finding and it turns out BruCo (without the capitalizations) is the Italian word for caterpillar! I did more investigating as one would, because I know that there is some Italian heritage in these BruCo walls. Coincidence? I think not!
It turns out on the day of choosing the BruCo name we had some plumbing parts laying around to inspire the business title. On that particular day Bobby (featured in many of our YouTube videos) had happened upon a Closet Flange Extension with a furry little critter inching along the blank space for our logo. Bobby, being multilingual, started shuffling through all the words this could be. That’s when he happened upon the Irish translation bolb, but Bobby knew that this would only make sense if he switched all his product from plastic injection molds to light bulbs. That’s when the Italian word popped in his mind and he knew it was the name of the company. In celebration he found a nice green leaf for his new BruCo mascot and got to work on designing the triangular logo. Then Bobby legally changed his name to Bobby BruCo. On opening day, the caterpillar had transformed into a beautiful butterfly and flew away into the sunset.
Or BruCo was one letter off from the last name of the owners and no caterpillars were put into the hands of Bobby BruCo. It’s possible it was pure coincidence, but I’d like to think that a mini hallmark movie was the beginning of our business.
